Happy Food Festival is held in Stavanger between 20 to 23 July this year, and this year's festival is the 13th in the series. The festival is the largest food festival, and aims to promote people's interest in food and food culture. The festival has a local, national and international focus, and showcases both niche products, raw materials, the latest trends, in addition to national quality products. The arrangement is expected to draw 250,000 visitors in four days.
This year, sea foods has a special attention in the festival with a seperate seafood venue on the festival site, where fresh seafood manifacturers and restaurants exhibit and sell their products.
-The Government's aim is to make Norway the world's leading seafood nation. We can only succeed this by being a volunteer ambassadors of Norwegian seafood, said Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs Lisbeth Berg-Hansen at the opening of the festival.
