Denzel Washington Leads Nobel Concert 2010

The actor, having received critical acclaim for his work in films and his portrayals of real-life figures, such as Malcolm X, has agreed to chair this year's Nobel Concerts in Oslo Spektrum 11 December, reported AP.

– I am honored to take part in the Nobel Peace Prize concert, and participate in this historic and momentous event, and help spread the message of world peace, "said Washington to AP.

Last year, the concert had been led by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. Oprah Winfrey and Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, and Scarlett Johansson and Sir Michael Caine were other leading figures who took the lead in the previous years.
