Max Manus To Oscar

The Norwegian Oscar committee has chosen the internationally famed Norwegian film, Max Manus for this year’s Oscar which will be held in 7 March 2010.

The film holds the record for the most seen Norwegian movie in theaters, with 184,288 admissions in its opening weekand has been sold in more than 30 countries. The film received support from the Norwegian Film Fund and the story presented in the movie was critized by some Norwegian historians with the claim of its glorification of reality

Max Manus, the most expensive purely Norwegian film production with its NOK 55 Million, had become the first Norwegian film ever to be chosen for a gala viewing at the Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. Max Manus will be competing with numerous films from all around the world in Oscar.
