Norway in Action – Ice Caving in Buer-Glacier

Buerdalen is a beautiful, wild and green narrow valley with steep mountainsides. At the end of the valley is the spectacular ice-blue Buerbreen / glacier, an arm of the majestic glacier Folgefonna.

The glacier arm can be reached by foot in a couple of hours from Odda. Every day during the summer you can put on the crampons, bring your ice axe and come along on a glacier hike on the glacier of Buer.

Ice-caving is an incredible journey into the heart of this glacier. Head lights provide the only source of illumination as the adventurers walk through the melt water channels, where water has cut out long corridors and caves in the ice.
