Northug Wins Fourth Golden in Falun

The gold medal went for the fourth time in this championship and for the thirteenth time ever, to Norwegian ski legend Petter Northug.

He was way back in the group during virtually the entire race. On his way into the final hill, he lay around tenth, but he quickly advanced into the field. In the horseshoe he was up in third place and at the finish the 29-year-old could sprint for gold.

“It feels great to finish with a gold,” says Northug to Falun website.

After Northug, Czech Lukas Bauer took the silver and Johan Olsson swung a bronze.
