It was a very tough struggle yesterday at the Ullevål Stadion during the game between Norwegian first division team Tromsø IL and the second division team Hødd. Majority saw Tromsø as favorite of the game, however it was Hødd which put the last point of the match winning by penalties 5:3.
The game started with a yellow card given to Hødd player Vegar Heltne just in the first minute. Later the match turned into a physical competition between the teams. A couple of accute attacks by both sides ended with no results. After the first half, the score was still 0:0.
After the break, the rivals began with more strength to press the ball and it was Hødd’s player Kjell Rune Sellin who brought forward his team in the 62th minute with a spectacular goal. This enforced Tromsø IL to press up the opponent. But Hødd’s goalkeeper was in his best day and managed to save the neck from the ball. But Tromsø’s Senegalese player Saliou Ciss managed to score in 87th minute, which led the game to additional time. The score has not changed after two additional periods and the result of the match was determined by penalty shootout.
Hødd’s goalkeeper Ørjan Håskjord Nyland showed more cold blooded character and saved two balls. He later on was recognized as the player of the match. Smiles dawned Hødd’s fans’ faces and Tromsø’s supporters got sad. The great finish of the season was for Hødd IL with a score of 5:3
