FIS World Cup Skiing Championship Starts in Oslo

10 events are organized, between Cross-Country, Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping, in addition to other cultural festival events. All the events are organized on the Holmenkoll National Arena, which consists of the Holmenkollbakken (K-120/HS 134) ski jump, the Midtstubakken (K 95/HS 106) ski jump and the Cross-Country arena and 8.5 km competition courses.

The Organizer expect approx. 350 athletes from 40 Nations, 600 media persons, a total of about 50 000 spectators and several million TV viewers.

800 experienced volunteers will help organize the event, and ensure a professionally executed World Cup event.

The World wide FIS World Cup in Ski Jumping (Men and Women), Nordic Combined and Cross-Country is an annual competition, coordinated by the International Ski Federation (FIS) since early 1980s. Each season consist of 25 – 30 World Cup competitions in each of the three disciplines, each weekend at different venues, and with usually two competitions each weekend.
Holmenkollen has organized World Cup Nordic every year since 1980, Olympic Games once (1952) and FIS Nordic World Championships four times (1930, 1966, 1982, 2011)
