Winter Storm Rages in Norway

The storm rages in southern Norway. In Hordaland, Rogaland, Vestfold and the Agder counties, there have been serious problems on both water and land, writes NRK.

Both at the airports in Bergen (Flesland) and Alesund (Vigra), there have been cancellations and some major delays on some routes.

Also, the bad weather leads to road closures. The storm leads to accidents due to closed mountain passes and slippery roads in both Southern Norway and Nordland. Over ten roads in southern Norway was temporarily closed due to the storm till yesterday afternoon. Especially there are serious transportation problems in Hordaland and Rogaland.

1350 Insurance Claims

So far insurence companies have received 1,350 claims totaling NOK 80 million NOK for the last days of storms. The 1350 requirements relate to naturel damage to buildings, cars and boats. The insurers expect the number will increase soon.
