The decline in reported crimes applies to most types of crime. Number of property crimes went down by 7.1 percent from second quarter of 2012 to second quarter of 2013. The number of sexual offenses fell by 6.2 percent, while the number of economic crimes decreased by five percent over the same period. Number of violent crimes was stable at around 18 000 in both 2012 and 2013.
On the other hand, other crimes and drug crimes increased during the same period. In the end of the 2nd quarter of 2013, 32,459 drug crimes were reviewed. That’s 8.6 percent more than in the second quarter of 2012.
