The royal couple was going home after having celebrated Danish Crown Princess Mary's 40th birthday in Copenhagen the night before. The couple were among the 135 passengers and a crew of five people in the plane when the incident happened.
– After the plane took off from Copenhagen to Oslo, there was an engine failure. This led to the smoke, and the crew decided to evacuate the aircraft, said information officer Knut Morten Johansen of SAS Norway to NTB.
No one was injured in the incident. One of the passengers who were aboard the plane, however, tells AP that there was panic.
