The three persons who are arrested are all of foreign origin. One has Norwegian citizenship and the other has a permanent residence permit in Norway .
The three arrested are:
Person 1 : A man in his late 30 's with Uyghur background who came to Norway in the late 90th century as a quota refugee and was granted Norwegian citizenship in 2007.
Person 2: An Iraqi / Kurdish man, also in the late 30 's, who came to Norway in the late 90th century and was granted residency on humanitarian grounds. He now has a permanent residence permit in Norway .
Person 3 : An Uzbek man in his 30s who came to Norway in the early 2000 's as an asylum seeker. This was rejected, but he was later to stay in Norway on the basis of family reunification. He now has a permanent residence permit in Norway .
PST may at the present time do not say anything further about the suspected base, in the interests of further investigation.
PST authorities emphasized that the communities in Norway which can represent a threat to national security are small and mainly involved in support activities to foreign activity. Therefore they do not assess the arrests as a threat to Norway , and that the threat level is still considered low.
