The Justice Ministry prepares to ban all forms of advertising of sexual services on websites. The ministry works on the regulation wih the aim to promote a bill to the Parliament in the autumn.

– We primarily want to prevent human trafficking and pimping. And online advertising is a very important part of the business, police inspector Vegard Munthe Ommdal said to TV2.

Ommdal thinks advertising on the internet must be seen as promoting someone else’s prostitution.

– The prostitutes we discover through these websites are women from Eastern Europe, they come from poorer circumstances. What we see is largely the utilization of their situation, says Ommdal.
