Støre is Top Favorite Prime Minister Candidate of Norway

Every third Norwegian prefer the new Labor leader Jonas Gahr Støre as the country’s next prime minister. 22 percent of voters want to keep current prime minister, Erna Solberg, writes NTB.

The survey Ipsos MMI made for Dagbladet reveals even 11 percent want former prime minister and new NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg back as prime minister. He is thus the third most popular candidate even though he is not going to be in election race.

Talking to Dagbladet, Støre says the poll result is a great encouragement for him.

The current prime minister and Conservative leader Erna Solberg’s popularity has declined from 41 percent in the election month of September last year, to 32 percent in December, 25 percent in March and 22 percent now.

While 49 per cent of Conservative voters believe their party leader Erna Solberg is the right person as prime minister of Norway, 61 percent of Labor Party voters think the same thing for Støre.
