Stoltenberg Thanks Conservative Party for a Fair Election Campaign

Prime Minister Stoltenberg said in his farewell speech that the goal was to make a new red-green majority, and they could not succeed it.

– The task was too tough. We did not reach the goal, so tonight we acknowledge the disappointment, Stoltenberg said.

He also said that Norway is likely to have a government of the Progress Party, Conservatives, Christian Democrats and Liberals. – The voters wanted to give the country for a new government, and in line with Norwegian parliamentary tradition, I will seek dismissal of my government following the presentation of the national budget on 14 October when it is clear that there is parliamentary basis for a new government, Stoltenberg said.

He also thanked Erna Solberg for an unbiased and good campaigning.

In his speech, Stoltenberg also promised a responsible and constructive opposition, because voters have given them a confidence that they will manage it with respect. The goal is to be the leading political force, also from the opposition. We will use the trust to promote our values, said he.

– Welcome to hard labor for a new election victory in 2017! concludes Stoltenberg with wild applause from the audience.
