Exchaning Civil Society Experiences of Norway and Romania

The partnership for a joint initiative under the EEA Grants Bilateral Relations Fund has been solidified with training visits in Oslo.  

During the four day study tour in Oslo, The Young Initiative Association and Norsensus Mediaforum arranged a series of workshops on the topic of sustainability in NGO sector in Romania and Norway, improving the sustainability of the ongoing projects, presentations of the activities of both organizations, with a focus on the common themes with a specia lemphasis on communication strategy. Also the project partners held debates on topics of common interest, with a focus on sharing knowledge and experience from both countries.

The Young Initiative Association got chance to visually present the EEA Grants project results, and their ongoing projects supported by EEA Grants. In response, Norsensus Mediaforum presented its activities in Norway and other countries in addition to visual storytelling,  and communication capacity building for NGO sector. 

One of the most striking highlights of the project was the presentation of The Young Initiative Association’s inspiring projects in Romania.  

They talked about CMON Center – an open space in Bucharest which any NGO from Romania can use for free for any event or meeting. Another project highlighed was NGO Library which aims to provide resources on nonprofit management. In a country where no public library offers books about NGO management, this collection brings global knowledge closer to the Romanian NGO’s.

MOOC Course in Innovative online education was another project mentioned during the meeting. The open online course makes learning accesible for the Romanian NGO managers and prospective managers, about how to manage NGOs profesionally and sustainably.

During their stay in Oslo, the Young Initiative Association of Romania visited some other Norwegian institutions, City Hall, NGOs and city marks.
