Oslo District Court believes that the Norwegian state has violated Breivik’s human rights. According to the decision, Norway has violated European Human Rights Convention articles 3 and 8 about torture and respect for private and family life.
The court ruled that the state must pay Breivik legal costs of 331 000 NOK (40 700 USD).
Breivik is dangerous and will probably spend the rest of his life in prison. There is reason to prevent him from making contact with like-minded to avoid that he inspires others, the court writes in the judgment.
The court does not either believe that the strong restrictions on visits or phone calls are human rights violations.
