– Most of the snow will probably melt away, comments to Aftenposten Vibeke Thyness, duty meteorologist at the Meteorological Institute.
The next few days in the Oslo area will be rather wet. A bit warmer, a bit colder.
– Tuesday afternoon there will be rain again, turning gradually into snow, says Thyness.
Northwesterly winds will dominate the Oslo area from Wednesday. There will be clear days with little clouds. This will also cause lower temperatures.
– On Wednesday the temperature will be between zero and five degrees below zero, says Thyness.
The temperature will gradually fall after that. Thursday night there will be only ten degrees below zero on the thermometer. But this time the cold won’t last for long. By the weekend the weather will get warmer again. January is over, calms Thyness.
She explains that the cold days in January were caused by a persistent high pressure over large parts of Norway. This will not happen again this week.
Meteorologist also warns against high winds in the Oslo fjord and Skagerrak on Tuesday, which will lead to higher tide than anticipated.
