Norway Introduces Border Control against Sweden, Denmark and Germany

The measures come after the Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven announced that the country no longer can deal with the refugee situation and that they will implement measures to reduce the influx of refugees, writes NRK. Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg is afraid that even more asylum seekers come to Norway after this decision.

– When Sweden tightens more, we are afraid that the refugee flow will direct to Norway, says Prime Minister Erna Solberg to NRK.

Solberg has asked Justice Minister Anders Anundsen to impose measures. Among other things, there will be identity checks on buses and trains to Norway, and ferry operators must check all its passengers.

Solberg says to TV2 that the bus and ferry operators have a duty to ensure that they do not carry people who do not have travel documents.

The Prime Minister stressed that the tightening does not mean to stop asylum freedom, but they aim to stop people who are not entitled to protection.
