As the capital’s third largest party, the Green Party (MDG) will ban all the cars in the center of Oslo. Oslo center within Ring 1 shall be free of private cars by 2017.
Also, the party will prohibit the use of diesel cars in Oslo from next year on days when it is notified high air pollution.
It will also become increasingly difficult to park. MDG will design a concrete plan to gradually reduce the number of normal parking spaces. Each year, a certain number of parking spaces will be used for bicycle lanes, vegetation, street furniture or other purposes.
The party further plans to introduce low emission zone within the ring 3 as of 2016 and escalate this gradually up to a ban on fossil cars by 2022.
