Norway Revises Asylum Seekers Forecast: 20.000

UDI revised its expectation upwards from 14,000 to 20,000 asylum seekers. The reason is the large rise in asylum seekers who have arrived in recent weeks, writes NRK.

– For a few weeks ago our estimate  was between 14 to 16,000 asylum seekers in 2015. Now we have just revised upwards the estimates that there will be up to 20,000, says UDI director Frode Forfang to NRK.

In August around 70- 80 asylum seekers came on average per day, while in September the number has risen to well over 100 per day. Sometimes the number increases over 200 in one day.
