The ship’s captain, Svein Kvalavåg confirmed to NTB that Siem Pilot received a request from the Italian rescue coordination center to assist in a rescue mission on Sunday morning.
The ship picked up 87 people from three rubber boats in northeast of the Libyan city of Tripoli. Then 332 were transferred from MSF-ship Phoenix. 65 of them are women and 24 are children, NTB reported.
Last week, Siem Pilot had conducted its first operation in the Mediterranean. The vessel had picked up 770 refugees from two open wooden boats.
