Peace Ring in Norway Attracts Participants from England, Denmark and Sweden

The demonstration at the synagogue against Jew hatred creates hope among Jews in Oslo, says Ervin Kohn, head of the Jewish community. In addition to thousands of participants in Norway, Muslims from Denmark, England and Sweden have announced that they will participate. He notes that a bus load of young Muslims from Stockholm will come beisde people who are coming from England and Denmark.

– It shows that individuals can make a difference. It may not be leaders or organizations. The beauty is that it is Muslim youth who will stand up against anti-Semitism, and it gives me hope, says Kohn to NTB.

He also hopes this can be the start of a completely different kind Muslim-Jewish dialogue both in Norway and internationally.

On the other hand, he admits that some of the Jewish community members are skeptical but he emphasizes that they can not let fear control them.
