Controversial Pegida movement faces internal power struggle between Max Hermansen and Ronny Alte, who had central roles during the latest Islam critical march in Oslo on Monday. Following the march, Ronny Alte created a competing Facebook group that also claims the name Pegida Norway.
However, Max Hermansen, who manages the official Norwegian Pegida page, opposes the idea of having two groups.
Talking to TV2, Hermansen blames Alte for trying to gain the control of a territory. He wants to emerge as the savior of Norway. I warned that he must leave the group to us, otherwise I will ask all my contacts to leave Alte’s Pegida group, says he.
Alte has reportedly received several messages from both Norway and abroad telling not to use Pegida name.
