Fewer Seek Asylum in Norway

Last year, 10.344 asylum seekers applied to Norway during the first ten months. This year figure dropped to 9834, writes NTB.

On the other hand, neighbouring countries, Sweden and Denmark had an increasing number of asylum seekers. So far this year, Sweden has received nearly 70.000 asylum seekers and Denmark almost 13.000. It is the first time in a decade that Denmark gets more asylum seekers than Norway.

Migration Directorate in Sweden estimates up to 105.000 asylum seekers next year and Danes are expecting approximately 20.000. Meanwhile Norway expects only 11.000 asylum seekers in 2015.
