1600 orange scarfs with the inscription “To: one that freezes. From: The Church City Mission »Tuesday marked the start of the Christmas campaign of Kirkens Bymisjon.
From very early morning on Tuesday, the staff and volunteers from the Church City Mission left the hand made orange scarfs in ten cities. Only in Oslo, 500 scarves were left on the statues, landmarks and all bars in Karl Johans gate.
Scarf as a symbol of a warmer society
– We want to encourage warmth and inclusion in Norwegian cities. The scarves are a symbol of the Church City Mission works; a warmer society where people experience care, respect and fairness, says Secretary-General Lars Erik Flatø.
The scarves are the outcomet of a large-scale knitting effort among guests, residents, patients, clients, volunteers and employees of the Church City Mission in recent months.
