Norway Introduces New Bans on Smoking

The amendment to the Tobacco Act, which introduces the ban in public premises and vehicles is put in force by 1st of September.

 

The ban will also apply to electronic cigarettes.

 

Rail Administration warns that they will apply the ban on  also all drives and remove ashtrays from trains and stations.

 

On 1st of July,  smoking ban had been first introduced at school- and kindergartens. With the regulation, tightening of the Tobacco Act had been adopted and smoking during work hours both inside and out of school areas have been prohibited.

Previously, only smoking in kindergarten premises was prohibited.

 

The new law applies to schools and family day care, and use of tobacco, including snuff.
