– When a country faces with a terrorist threat, you change level of preparedness and PST believes that the threat is credible. It is important to remember our values we stand for. Freedom of expression, tolerance and the fight against extremism are important. We shall show that we do not allow these threats to influence us, but we still take it seriously and make necessary measures, says Brende.
The Norwegian Foreign Minister notes that PST has already made its safety assessment about the vulnerability of Norway. We have a situation that some Norwegian nationals are foreign fighters in Syria and Iraq, and we have a real and new threat to security in our own country. When PST is open with it, we see that foreign policy has become part of the domestic political picture, says he.
