The Foreign Press Association in Norway (FPA) has moved to a new location in Oslo. The address is Klingenberggata 5. International correspondents based in Norway were present when the Foreign Minister declared the centre open with a tweet.
Foreign Minister Brende focused on the importance of foreign correspondents in our fast-paced and globalised world: ‘You present both news and valuable analyses to your readers, listeners and viewers. This increases the level of understanding between different political systems, cultures, languages and religions.’
Twenty years have passed since the Norwegian International Press Centre was established, just before the Lillehammer Olympic Games. The aim in 1994 was to ensure good working conditions for foreign correspondents in Norway. The Foreign Press Association, which is open to all journalists covering Norway for international media, currently has about 75 members.
