FRP Will Halve the Number of Countries Receiving Aid from Norway

According to NTB’s report, Sandberg notes the government comes with a new development and aid policy in June.

– Concentration of aid to fewer countries is very important. Today, Norwegian aid is given to 112 countries. We believe it is wrong, says Sandberg.

He futher states that they will at least halve the number of recipient countries in a few years.

– We must work with other countries and the UN. Norway should concentrate its efforts on 40 or 50 countries, it must be coordinated with, for example, Sweden and Denmark, says Sandberg.

On the other hand Christian Democratic Party (KrF) leader Knut Arild Hareide is not thrilled and believes the proposal leads to many good aid projects ends.
