The Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit turn 40 this summer and celebrate it by organizing a three-day music festival for their friends in this weekend. Around 300 guests are expected to attend to this special festival and the couple will sleep in a tent at the festival celebration with all participants.
However, the cost of both such a festival and security stirs a debate in Norway. As a response to discussions on paying tax money on this huge arrangement, the royal palace and couple’s friend Morten Andreassen develop a creative solution.
Andreassen, who is helping to plan the festival, writes an email tho the guests asking to contribute financially to this weekend’s celebration.
“This is a desperate email from a man who now has serious money problems :-)”, writes he in th email, according to VG.
Prior to this, the royal palace asked guests to contribute to the celebration. They write “Haakon buys most of what he needs himself, “now let’s take initiative to splice the big gift, a gift he will really appreciate and never forget.”
