Many Believe EU Has Too Much Influence on Norway

While only 11 percent disagree with the statement, 33 percent say the EU has no influence on Norway.

Anti-EU organization Nei til EU believes the study confirms that Parliament is at odds with its own people. The organization wants a larger public debate about Norway’s relationship with the union, reports NTB.

Professor of European Law at the University of Oslo, Fredrik Sejerstad argues that it is EU’s right to decide in Norway, but he does not agree that the EU governs too much.

– It is good for Norway to participate in binding European cooperation. And when the EU decides some issues in Norway, it is because it serves Norwegian interests, says Sejerstad.
