The Norwegians are world leaders in adopting new media platforms, such as smart phones, tablets and IPTV. 38.8 percent of the Norwegian population use IPTV, smart phones and tablets at the same time. In comparison, this figure is only 23.1 in the UK, and 19.4 in the USA, according to research conducted by ZenithOptimedia
Also, smartphone penetration in Norway is 65%, compared with a 44% average across the top 19 global markets. One reason for Norwegians to adopt new technology so fast is the good economy.
– Norway has a tradition of strong national and regional news media on TV and newspaper, and our good economy allows us to obtain new devices quickly. These two things along with high quality online means bring us to the forefront of the digital media use, says multimedia director of TV2- Hege Kosberg.
