Pro-Israeli and Pro-Palestinian Demonstrations Held in Oslo

Police cordoned off a large area against a possible confrontation as supporters from both sides of the Israel-Palestine conflict demonstrated at the same time near the Israeli embassy in Oslo on Saturday, but both demonstrations went peacefully.

Organization, With Israel for peace held a ceremony outside the embassy with around 100 participants. Christian Democratic Party (KrF) parliamentary leader Hans Olav Syversen and right-wing Progress Party (FrP) MP Peter N. Myhre (FRP) also were among the participants.

On the other hand, around 100 members of International Socialists demonstrated for Palestine a few hundred yards away.

Both groups left the area in peace after the demonstrations at 16.00.
