Burglaries in Norway Increasing

There have been 25,107 residential burglaries in the country so far this year, according to figures from the Financial Services Council with an increase of 7 percent from the same period of the last year.

This year so far, around 2,800 burglaries were reported in a month on average. Communications director of Finance Norway (FNO) Leif Osland thinks the increase is linked to organized criminal circles from Eastern Europe. Osland says to NTB that high Norwegian welfare level is attractive to organized criminals from Eastern Europe.
