Police have arrested a man outside the Old Town Hall in the city center, according to local newspaper, BT. The man reportedly told that he had a bomb in his backpack. But the police said that the whole thing was probably a misunderstanding.
Operations manager Ole Jakob Malmo in Hordaland police district confirmed that they arrested the man and he is in police custody pending interrogation in the afternoon.
The Police Director Jan Bredo Andersen says bomb threat may have been intended as a joke, but the content of what the man said was so serious that they perceived threat as real.
