Someone Must Take the Lead in Climate Talks

The meeting was attended by climate retailers, researchers and representatives of voluntary organizations to discuss how to come further in the work of a new climate agreement. There were participants from about 30 countries.

Solhjell underlined that any country must take the lead in the climate negotiations, disseminate new ideas and test the instrument if we need progress in the process.

-We as politicians must decide the basis and direction, but the retailers have to find out how we will come there. The idea behind this meeting is that people get to know each other and understand the basis for the new agreement is slightly better. It showed that we can bring researchers and people from environmental organizations, along with retailers for creating the basis for the desired progress, said Solhjell.
