Oslo University Hospital on Suspicious List of Human Trafficking

Oslo Police announced that the furniture maker who is prosecuted for human trafficking have brought an additional six Filipinos to Norway in addition to the three nurses who has worked at Oslo University (OUS).

The three Filipino nurses were recruited for Oslo University Hospital in October 2010 by an employment agency, which is actually involved in furniture restoration. 

Then, it was realized that Filipino nurses were economically exploitet and allegedly threatened to take consumer loans of 300,000 NOK by the agency. They also had to pay expensive rent for the apartment which the agency arranged for them.

Now, the police arrested the man who brought Filipino nurses to Oslo University has been arrested and charged with trafficking. Later on, the inspectors will investigate the hospital’s role and gain in this case. 

-The hospital is added as a suspect in the case, said police inspector Bente Gerner to TV2.
