Age Limit Comes for Solariums in Norway

– It is important to take measures to ensure that fewer people get cancer. Despite awareness campaigns, more and more young people are spending time in solariums, which leads to a significantly increased risk of developing skin cancer, says Health Minister Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen (Ap). She also referred to studies showing that the risk of melanoma increases by 75 percent for those who begin using solariums before the age of 30 years. Norway is one of the countries in the world with the highest incidence of melanoma.

According to NTB, In 2009, 55 percent of adolescents in Norway between 15 and 24 years went to solarium at least once.
