"Climate change and green economy growth" are the central themes in the environmental program during the Norwegian chairmanship.
– We look forward to leading the environmental work in the Nordic co-operation from 2012. We will put special emphasis on climate change and green economic growth and contribute actively towards the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Rio in June 2012, said Norwegian minister, Erik Solheim.
Environment Minister also stated he is pleased that the Nordic countries agreed to support a Norwegian proposal to cooperate on issues of energy, protection of ecosystems and sustainability.
