Though the social networking site, Facebook continues to grow and has reached to 700 million global users, the number of Norwegian Facebook users who have been active dropped by more than 100,000 in the last two months, writes Aftenposten. Previously it was revelaed that six million Americans quit the site in May. That's the first time Facebook has lost so many users in over a year. The site also posted losses in Canada, the U.K., and Russia, while most of its gains came in developing countries such as Mexico and India.
Studies in Italy and UK have shown that we can have stable social relationships with between 100 and 200 other people at the same time. With a friends list of several hundreds or even several thousands, the task of keeping themselves informed and active on sites like Facebook simply is too much for human capacity.
