The soldiers have been paid an average of 1.8 million each, writes Aftenposten. Since 2007, compensation had risen to 256 million, including 70 million in injury and 52 million ex gratia.

In total, 253 veterans from the wars with which Norway has participated in from 1978 to 2009 sought "compensation for the psychological late effects." So far, 101 of the cases were processed, and only nine have been finally rejected.
