The state secretary of the Ministry of Defense Roger Ingebrigtsen’s explicit statement about the governmental prioritization of weapon exports has been materialized as a consensus has been formed between Kongsberg Defense Systems and the Norwegian Defense Logistics Organization (NDLO) for a Joint Strike Missile (JSM) , with a development contract exceeding 1 billion NOK.
During the contract signing, Ingebrigtsen said the Joint Strike Missile project will satisfy an important operational need as well as creating significant industrial opportunities in Norway. He also described the project as an important opportunity for Norway’s industry as a whole and stated they have great expectations from the development of the missiles.
