The government receives the highest revenue from the drivers in Oslo, while Østfold drivers takes the second place. According to NRK's report, the head of transport and communications committee in Parliament Knut Arild Hareide said the large amount of the money coming from these speed cameras must be returned directly to the traffic safety work.
The most decisive ones in tunnels
Hareide also expressed his concern about a statistic that shows partly extreme high speed on Norwegian roads. The worst traffic offenders are often caught in the tunnels, and many young men are registered with a speed of up to 190 kilometers per hour.
Despite the high percentage of traffic offenders in Norway, Hareide does not advocate a solution with higher traffic fine.
