Millions to Doctors Without Borders

The Minister of Environment and Development Erik Solheim announced the donation at TV2 artist gala to raise money for charity.

– Doctors Without Borders are working where there is really need. The goal is to give those who need the most vital medical help," said Solheim.

Solheim is impressed with the work MSF is doing in areas ravaged by war and natural disasters. They also work in crises that fall outside the media spotlight. The areas rarely have decent roads and without any form of health care.

– Doctors Without Borders is a neutral and impartial organization. They work with medical ethics and the right to humanitarian assistance, as basic principles. It is essential to ensure people to get help in many of the most difficult crises in the world, "said Solheim.

Money is to help vulnerable groups in many countries. This includes Haiti, in the midst of reconstruction after the earthquake, the country is now affected by a cholera epidemic.

Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural or man-made disasters.
