He pointed out that the government does not give priority to investment in family protection in this year's budget.
– The Government's cuts are incomprehensible. We all know that the family counseling centers are working with over capacity, that causes long queues as number of clients and cases constantly increase, "says Håbrekke.
The Government proposes in the national budget for 2011 a cut of 590 000 for the Church family protection offices.
– This is a small post, and we are talking about relatively small sums, but the funds have an enormous impact on children in difficult situations and families in crisis, says Håbrekke.
He also proposed that this cut means a lot to family protection offices which are already in a stressful situation.
