New System for full electronic processing of residence permit is being tested in a pilot project. The goal is shorter processing time and improved user service.
The pilot project started in 1st of October and includes applications for visas, family immigration, student and au pair permits. It is only for applications which are provided by foreign stations in Manila and Tehran, and by Rogaland and South Buskerud Police District which are participants of the pilot project. Applications are delivered to these stations from 1 October will be processed online immediately. Applications that are submitted before 1 October is not covered by the project.
The testing of the new electronic solutions will continue until 31.12.2009. Then the pilot project will be evaluated. Foreign stations and police districts involved in the pilot project will continue to process applications electronically until the immigration management use the new electronic system.
