Operating expenses of municipaities have increased by over ten percent in 2008 compared with 2007. ? ?This means that municipalities continue to improve the service quality for their citizens” said Local Government and Regional Development Minister Magnhild Meltveit Kleppa.
The increased revenues which municipalities used have been concentrated in health and care services and as a result the expenses in daycare centers have increased by 18.3 percent resulting in 45 600 new employees in the sector.
