Video conferencing in courts

The Government proposes 10 million NOK for investment in video equipments in courts. Combined with the ICT investment in Criminal Investigation, the new system will provide more efficient case handling, freeing resources for the police.

Video conferencing is claimed to make the courts more accessible. The equipment is a viable alternative to physical attendance. Thereby resources that the police currently spend on transportation and security will be freed up.
