The Nordic and Baltic countries and Poland, Russia, Germany and the European Commission, agreed to continue and strengthen cooperation in energy sector in the Baltic region in the frame of The Baltic Sea Region Energy Cooperation (BASREC).
It is also agreed that BASREC will prepare a draft declaration on climate and energy for the UN climate conference in Copenhagen in December 2009. Declaration will emphasize on the important instruments to counter climate change – energy efficiency, increased use of renewable energy and other “low-carbon” technologies.
