An Icredible Timelapse: Cutting Norwegian Cruise Ship into Two and Stretching

The Norwegian Crown is pulled into dock, where engineers split the ship in two. A 99-foot extra section is then added in, to accommodate extra cabins and more entertainment areas. The paintwork is completely stripped and re-done, with the ship’s new name then unveiled — the Balmoral. The extra section means the 1988-built boat can now carry around 1,400 passengers — an increase of a third.
